Bill on the Buckeyes Substack paywall is up
Thank you so much for subscribing.
After 10 days on Substack in which I tried to get acclimated before I start charging, I have set up the paywall. With occasional exceptions, my stories/DVR reviews/podcasts/etc. will now be available to subscribers only. I believe the price for my Ohio State football coverage is a reasonable one. The annual rate is $79.99, about 26% lower than the monthly rate of $8.99. An elite founder’s membership is $150, and that will include a free, signed copy of Buckeye Brotherhood, my behind-the-scenes account of how Ohio State won the 2024 national championship. Like my previous books, Buckeye Rebirth about the 2012 undefeated season, and The Chase about the 2014 title team, I believe Buckeye Brotherhood will be regarded as the definitive account of the season. If you sign up soon, I should be able to get you a copy of the book before its official release date of Oct. 21. (Authors can get books before they’re available to the public, though I don’t know exactly when I will get my shipment.) Elite Founders Members can purchase additional copies of the book at a discount if I don’t run out.
I sincerely appreciate all of you who have already subscribed to my Substack. My goal is to provide the same comprehensive coverage of the Buckeyes that I did covering them for the Columbus Dispatch since 2011. That includes complete game coverage, in-depth features and profiles, and much more. I have a profile on a budding young OSU star that I plan to post on Thursday that I’m confident you’ll enjoy. When time permits in the offseason, I’d like to branch out and write about other Ohio State sports and the Blue Jackets. My Substack will surely evolve, and I welcome you on this journey together. I’m happy and grateful to get feedback from you, and yes, even constructive criticism. My goal is to make this informative and fun. Welcome aboard.

I'm in for a Founding Membership, Bill. Living so far away from CBus, I welcome any and all options to get Buckeye news. I'd love coverage of Men's and Women's Hoops and women's hockey. :)
